How to Register for JEE 2023?

The JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is an engineering entrance test conducted to get admissions to various premier institutions, such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. JEE is generally conducted every year in two phases. Phase 1 of JEE is JEE Main, whereas phase 2 is JEE Advanced. Also, JEE Main is conducted in two sessions. In 2023, the first session of JEE Main is scheduled to be held in January 2023, whereas the second session is in April 2023. These are the initial exam dates released by the exam conducting authority, i.e., the NTA for JEE Main. Candidates who qualify in JEE Main will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.

When it comes to application, NTA generally accepts online application forms within the stipulated time mentioned in the official notification. The registration process for JEE 2023 can be done in 3 stages. First, you need to apply for JEE Main 2023 Session 1. Once the Session one exam is over, candidates can register for the second session of JEE Main. Also, only those candidates who cleared JEE Main 2023 are eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2023. This can be checked after the declaration of results for JEE Main 2023 session 2. Thus, the registration process will begin only after the declaration of results for JEE Main.

The registration process for the JEE Main is as follows.

  • During the first session registration of JEE Main, only Session 1 will appear for the candidates to submit the application form, and candidates can opt for it.
  • The Session 2 application will be visible for the next session, and the candidates can opt only for that session.
  • The application window for Session 2 will be opened again after the first session exams are over, as mentioned in the Information Bulletin released by NTA and will also be announced separately through a Public Notice.
  • Thus, candidates need to submit their applications for Sessions 1 & 2 separately.

Once the JEE Main results are declared, all the candidates in the top 250,000 list are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Thus, JEE Advanced 2023 registration will begin in the later stage. However, candidates will get a detailed notification and information brochure regarding JEE Advanced and a list of FAQs on the official website at least a month or two months before. Through this information, candidates will get a clear idea about the JEE Advanced registration, eligibility criteria, exam dates, and many more details.
